Payment Policy

Payment Policy

Effective Date: May 1, 2025

5.1 Accepted Payment Methods

Artificial Objects LLC accepts the following forms of payment for all transactions conducted through the Site:

  • Major credit and debit cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.
  • PayPal: including PayPal balance, linked bank accounts, and PayPal Credit (subject to PayPal's terms and approval).

Additional payment methods may be added, modified, or discontinued at our discretion. The payment options available to you will be displayed at checkout and may vary based on your billing address or jurisdiction.

5.2 Payment Authorization & Capture

By submitting payment information, you irrevocably authorize us to charge the full order amount — including the product price, applicable taxes, and shipping costs — to your selected payment method. Payment is captured at the time of order placement. You represent and warrant that: (i) you are the authorized user of the payment method submitted; (ii) all payment information provided is accurate, current, and complete; and (iii) sufficient funds or credit are available to cover the full transaction amount. Submission of false or unauthorized payment information may result in order cancellation and referral to law enforcement.

5.3 Currency

All transactions are priced and settled in United States Dollars (USD). International customers paying by credit or debit card acknowledge that their card-issuing bank may apply currency conversion fees and foreign transaction fees, which are entirely beyond our control and are the Customer's sole financial responsibility.

5.4 Payment Security & PCI DSS Compliance

We are committed to the secure processing of all payment transactions. Our payment infrastructure complies with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). Key security measures include:

  • All data transmitted between your browser and our Site is encrypted using SSL/TLS protocols.
  • Complete payment card numbers are never stored on our servers; card data is tokenized and managed by our PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant payment processors.
  • Access to payment systems is restricted to authorized personnel only, with multi-factor authentication required.

You may report payment security concerns to legal@artificialobjects.com or to your card-issuing bank.

5.5 Sales Tax Collection

We collect and remit sales tax in U.S. states and jurisdictions where we have a legal nexus or are otherwise required to do so by applicable law, including under the economic nexus standards established by South Dakota v. Wayfair, Inc., 585 U.S. 162 (2018). Applicable sales tax will be calculated and displayed at checkout based on your shipping address. Tax-exempt customers must provide a valid exemption certificate prior to order placement; exemption claims cannot be processed retroactively after an order has been placed.

5.6 Fraud Prevention & Order Security

We employ real-time fraud detection tools to protect our customers and our business. We reserve the right to: cancel any order suspected of being fraudulent, unauthorized, or in violation of these Terms without prior notice; request additional identity verification (such as government-issued ID or card statement) for high-value or high-risk orders; place orders on hold pending verification review; and permanently ban accounts found to be associated with fraudulent activity. In the event of a cancellation due to suspected fraud, a full refund will be issued to the original payment method within ten (10) business days.

5.7 Chargebacks & Disputes

If you have a concern about a charge, please contact us at legal@artificialobjects.com before initiating a chargeback with your financial institution. We will make every commercially reasonable effort to resolve disputes directly. Initiating a chargeback without first contacting us may be treated as a breach of these Terms. If a chargeback is filed on an order that was properly delivered and fulfilled per our policies, we reserve the right to dispute the chargeback with supporting documentation and to pursue all available legal remedies, including recovering our reasonable costs and fees.

5.8 Failed or Declined Transactions

If a payment is declined or fails, the order will not be processed and the Customer will be notified. We are not responsible for any fees, overdrafts, or penalties charged by your financial institution in connection with declined or failed transactions. Customers whose payments fail may re-attempt checkout with a different payment method.
